One of the striking landmarks of Sino-American cooperation in education is the growing number of Chinese students coming to study in the U.S. The academic year 2014/2015 saw the total number of matriculating students from China reach more than 300,000, which is an increase of 10.8% from the previous year. This number accounts for nearly 1/3 of the total international student population in the United States and has made China the largest overseas student resource for the 5th consecutive year. Additionally, compared to other academic designs, the direct joint education program between the Chinese and American universities has become one of the most reliable and comfortable approaches to a study abroad program for both the partner universities and the student’s parents.

Higher education in the U.S. has maintained its direction of educational globalization, with a particular interest in Chinese universities. China has also seen continuous momentum in economic growth. As the Chinese government supports the training of more Chinese students with a global vision, the model of a 2+2 joint educational cooperation provides a great opportunity for mutual achievement.

UCA Services Coverage

Parameters

  • Identifies potential Chinese partner universities, enlists these potential partner institutions (with the approval of the U.S institution) and secures Chinese governmental approval of the 2+2 program with these partner universities in China.
  • Sufficiently advertises, directs communications, and assists with enrollment activities with prospective students to fill the government-approved quota of Chinese students for any 2+2 degree programs established with the American institution and partner Chinese universities as a result of UCA’s efforts.
  • Secures completed applications for admission to the American institution for prospective students who qualify under the institution’s admissions standards.
  • Provides counseling services in China, enrollment retention and assistance to students enrolled in 2+2 programs for preparing for enrollment in or transfer to the American institution, aids in completion of all necessary paperwork for application to the institution, and to the U.S. government for issuing of an F-1 student visa.
  • Maintains a representative in China who engages prospective students and establishes a local presence to present to parents, students, and educational entities the specific advantages of higher education offered by the American institution.
  • Establishes other educational programs for the American institution as agreed upon by both parties.
