What is it?

Design Principle

A jointly designed 2+2 program for undergraduate higher education is a very popular collaborative venture for American and Chinese universities. The 2 +2 program requires that students study for the first two years in Chinese universities, and the last two years in American universities. This design assures equal matriculation time for each institution to complete its teaching objectives.

Effects

The significant amount of time studying overseas also helps the Chinese students develop a strong international understanding. All students recruited for this program must take the National College Entrance Examination in China. Performance standards are enforced, and only those students who meet the recruiting standards for each individual institution will be admitted into the program.
